COURSE:        MATH 7

COURSE DESCRIPTION: Math 7 is a pre-algebra course. Students will perform math computations with integers, understand the concept of variable, graph on the coordinate plane, interpret data from tables and graphs, solve simple equations, and find area and volume of geometric shapes.

 

GOALS AND OBJECTIVES:  Students should meet the following goals and objectives.

 

1st 9 WEEKS

 

·        Understand the term integer

·        Determine which numbers are integers.

·        Compare integers using > greater than, < less than, or = equal.

·        Represent integers on a number line.

·        Understand the concept of opposites.

·        Perform computations with integers; add, subtract, multiply, and divide.

·        Graph pairs of integers on a coordinate plane.

·        Represent data in a table.

·        Graph data on a coordinate plane.

·        Interpret data from a table and graph.

·        Understand the concept of “variable”.

·        Represent variables in tables and graphs.

·        Understand relationships between variables.

·        Use calculators to graph data and variables.
