COURSE DESCRIPTION:  Math 6 consists of gathering data and using the data to make graphs, use the data and graphs to determine mean, median and mode; understanding fractions and their equivalent forms and being able to perform computations with fractions and their equivalent forms; an introductory to geometry concepts; and using probabilities to make predictions about outcomes of events.

 

GOALS AND OBJECTIVES:  Students should meet the following goals and objectives.

 

1st 9 WEEKS

 

·        Arrange data in a table.

·        Classify data as numerical or categorical.

·        Use line plots and graphs to display data.

·        Determine measures of center – mean, median and mode.

·        Classify numbers as prime or composite.

·        Determine factors of numbers.

·        Determine multiples of numbers.

·        Use factors and multiples in problem solving.
