Homework line /Parent contact:
****Everyday*** a new greeting will be left on extension 250 of the school phone line 332-8819.
The greeting will contain information about homework and upcoming tests
and or quizzes. After the beep, parents may leave me a message and I will
return your call ASAP.
Classroom Behavior and Consequences:
The goal for this year will be to create a respectful, productive
atmosphere in which the students can learn and perform to the best of their
abilities... In order for this to be
accomplished both the teacher and the students need to be prepared and on task
each day. The following are some highlights that the students should keep in
mind when preparing for this class.
Behavior:
****Everyday, students are
expected to follow all school
sanctioned rules (see
student handbook) including those pertaining to Tardies (3 tardies = 1
absence), dress code, food and drink (no food and water only in the
classrooms), cheating.
****** Students who are a disruption or a safety hazard will NOT be permitted to participate in the scheduled classroom labs. These students will still cover the same content but will be given an alternate assignment to complete for their lab grade. ***************
Student Materials:
***Everyday***
students are expected to bring: textbook, pen and pencil, paper and a notebook
for this class and this class only.
Late Work: Students
who are absent with a valid excuse have 5 school days to complete assignments
assigned while they were out. Work
assigned before the student’s absence is due the day they return. Unexcused absences may result in make-up
work that receives reduced credit.
Request for make-up work is the responsibility of the student. A plan
book listing each day’s activities and assignments is kept in the classroom for
the students’ convenience. If a student is not absent, work is
due when it is collected. Work that is turned in at the end of the class
period or the end of the day will receive partial credit. Work that is turned
in the next day will NOT receive credit.
Students who do not have a completed assignment to submit should be
prepared to turn in a paper with the name of the assignment and an explanation
of why the work was not completed on time.
