World History
World history is an over view of cultural development from all over the world. The course starts out with a look at prehistory and the development of the tools and writing and of civilization, and then we explore the classical age and the development of political systems and infrastructure to support larger populations. The course ends with the age of exploration and the development of the industrial revolution.
Geography deals with the five themes of geography, location, place, region, movement, and human environmental interaction. Once student understand these concepts and can apply them, they are introduced to the five parts of a culture region, government, language, religion, social groups, and economic systems. After students can apply these tem concepts, they are used to study the major areas of the world.
U.S. history deals with the discovery and settlement of the new world and finished with the civil war. The first stage deals with the discovery and colonization of the new world by the European powers. Then the focus is moved to the English colonies that rebelled to form the Unite States, and the development of the American form of government. Then the expansion to the west is covered, and the sectionalism that developed between the North and the South. Lastly the civil war and its aftermath are covered.
