Dear Parents,

We would like to invite you to attend our first general PTA meeting this Thursday, September 9th at 6:00 pm in the Ooltewah Middle School Little Theater. Eighth grade teacher, Mrs. Evatt, will be our guest speaker and will speak briefly about our new Readers and Writers Workshop, implemented in all of our Language Arts classrooms. Please come out to support the OMS Owls and join PTA.

Re: Open House

Good Evening,

This is Mr. Carpenter from Ooltewah Middle School and I am calling to remind parents that Open House will take place tomorrow night ,Thursday, September 2nd. There will be a general meeting and introduction in the gymnasium at 6p .m. and then parents will be dismissed to follow their child's schedule in 10 minute intervals. We look forward to seeing all of you at the school tomorrow evening.

Re: Yearbooks		 2010-2011 yearbooks will be for sale during our Open House tomorrow night (Thursday, September 2nd at 6:00). Tomorrow night, yearbooks will be on sale for a discounted price of $40. After tomorrow, yearbooks will sell for $45. Ordering your yearbook at Open House is a great chance to get your yearbook at a discount and also secure your order early. For an additional $5 you can add a name to personalize your book, and for an extra $2.50 you can also add an icon. Yearbook order forms will be available in the main officer, or with Miss McCurdy or Miss Alexander. Please make checks payable to OMS. Cash is also accepted.

Re: Cross Country Tryouts

Attention all those interested in cross country and tennis. Hello, this is Coach Mahoney, coach of the cross country team at OMS. Our season starts on Wednesday, August 11th after school. All students who come out for cross-country will make the team and be able to compete in all dual meets. We practice every school day except Fridays. Please stop by room 112 for a packet. See you Wednesday.

Because of a heat advisory, tennis tryouts have been moved to 6 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. for all three days. Boys tryouts will be on Wednesday, August 11th. Tryouts for girls tennis will be on Thursday, August 12th. The callback for girls and boys tryouts will be Friday, August 13th. The location has also changed. Thanks to the generosity of Ooltewah High School, we will be practicing on their courts. Please contact Ms. Alexander with any questions. Bring your own rackets and plenty of water

Re: Welcome Back		 If you did not receive a schedule by mail or a phone call from the administration about your schedule you will need to report to the Little Theater in the morning to pick up your schedule. Also, make sure you are in dress code and students and parents please be aware of morning procedures in regards to dropping off students and entering the building. We are very excited about getting started off on the right foot for the 2010-2011 school year and we look forward to seeing you in the morning. Have a good evening.

Re: Tennis Tryouts		 Hello Ooltewah Middle School!
Because tennis is now a fall sport, tryouts for boys’ tennis will be on Wednesday, August
11th. Tryouts for girls’ tennis will be on Thursday, August 12th. The callbacks for girls
and boys tryouts will be Friday, August 13th. Tryouts start at 2:45 and end at 4:15 at
Wolftever Elementary. Students must walk there and be picked up promptly at 4:15pm.
All athletes must have a Sports Medical Form completed and turned in before they may
tryout. The physical may be dated back to May 2010. 8th graders may not turn 15 and 7th
graders may not turn 14 on or before August 1, 2010. All forms may be found in the
main office or at www.omsowls.org. Forms must be completed and signed in order to
tryout. Contact Ms. Alexander for more details.

A message from OOLTEWAH MIDDLE SCHOOL

Hello,
This is Mr. Carpenter, the assistant principal at Ooltewah Middle School. I am calling to remind you that this Wednesday, August 4, 2010, is Registration Day. However, if you have received a schedule in the mail there is no need for you or your child to come to the school because we have all the information necessary for your child to begin school on Wednesday, August 11th at 7:15. For anyone who did not receive a schedule, we will be addressing only new students to OMS from 7:30 until 11:30 and then schedule changes from 1 until 4 on this Wednesday.
