The objective of this class is to give students keyboarding, word/data processing, and on-line computer skills that will serve them throughout their school years, in their personal lives, and in their careers. Using electronic software, emphasis is placed on using the correct techniques to master the keyboard, which includes the alphabet, numbers, symbols, punctuation and the 10-key numeric keypad keys. Students are encouraged to join Future Business Leaders of America.

This course prepares students for advanced Word Processing Skills using Word XP. Students will do many creative activities in Word. Students will also learn to do desktop presentations using Power Point XP. During the second nine-weeks, students use Microsoft Publisher 2003 to create newsletters, brochures, letterheads, business forms with tables, business cards, a twelve month calendar with scanned family pictures and other publications. This course also includes a Leadership Project that students will work on during the 18 week period. Students are encouraged to join Future Business Leaders of America.
