The Ooltewah High School (OHS) Concert Choir is an audition group, which consists of sixty-five members, grades 10-12. The Concert Choir is under the direction of Mrs. Kristen Wiriam. Auditions are usually held at the beginning of each term. Any student interested in auditioning may see Mrs. Wiriam in the chorus room #302, to set up a time and receive additional information about the process.
Membership Requirements: Singers must have experience being in a choir, be able to read music, and possess a positive attitude and self-discipline, as well as audition.
Club Activites: Concert Choir is the primary vocal ensemble at Ooltewah High School. For that reason Concert Choir gives numerous performances throughout the school year. The Concert Choir performs in a fall and spring semester concert with the other choirs from OHS. They perform with other high school groups from the Chattanooga area. Concert Choir hosts several university choirs throughout the year to perform for the OHS choral students. They also participate in the ETVA J.B. Lyle Choral Festival as well as the ACDA Tennessee State Choral Festival. In addition to participating in performances in the southeastern Tennessee area the Concert Choir takes tours of other parts of the Southeast participating in choral festivals and in choral master classes. Individually, members of the Concert Choir have auditioned and made the All-East Tennessee and All-State Tennessee Honor Choirs, performed with the Lee University Honor Choir, competed in vocal competitions, and study voice privately.
