Current Scholarships for Seniors

Hamilton County Education Association- $1,000 scholarship to a senior planning to pursue a degree in education- based on character, leadership, academic achievement, special needs and essay- due April 10th. Application in guidance
Hamilton County Education Support Personnel Association Scholarship- $500 to high school seniors planning to major in business with a 2.75 GPA and ACT score of 18 –20 or above- due April 19th Application in guidance
Gamma Lambda Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma Society- $1,000 scholarship to female senior who plans to major in the field of education. due April 16th- application in guidance
Hixson Kiwanis Club Scholarship- $1,500 to one Hixson area student who will be graduating from HHS based on financial need, scholastic achievement, extracurricular activities (athletics, clubs, offices held, church or community service, part time job), short essay. Due early May- date to be announced- Application in guidance
Better Business Bureau Scholarship- $1,000 scholarship due April 13 based on leadership, community service, academics, and a essay on the “importance of ethics in business and our community”- Application in guidance
Delta Kappa Gamma Society International Scholarship- $500 scholarship for a student planning to become a teacher. Application in guidance due April 16th
Reuban Strickland Memorial Scholarship/ Prince Hall Shriners/ Hyksos Temple- requires transcript, letter of recommendation, and biograpahical profile- due April 16th- application in guidance
American Chemical Society Scholars Program- 100 awards up to $2,500 for students interested in pursuing study in chemistry or chemically-related field. See Mrs. Sharpe and pick up a form in guidance- Deadline has been extended to April 13th.
The Balanced Man Scholarship- $750 given by Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity. Recipient is in no way obligated to join this fraternity. This scholarship is for males who will be attending the University of Memphis or Austin Peay State University – based on academics, athleticism, leadership and gentlemanliness May 15 deadline Applications available in guidance
Dr. Jim and Cynthia Scales Scholarship- $1,000 to a senior from Hamilton County Schools with 21 ACT and 3.0 GPA -with financial need- Due April 6th pick up scholarship in guidance

Chattanooga State Student Empowerment Grant- for students going to Chattanooga State with a 2.0 GPA with one of the following criteria (underrepresented ethnic population, economic disadvantage, or first generation college student (neither parent has a bachelor’s degree) – due April 10
Harrington Foundation Scholarship- for high-performing students- deadline: April 15- go to www.theharringtonfoundation.org
