In remembrance of those who lost their lives during the tragic events of September 11, 2001, the Vietnam Veterans of America, Chapter 203, will present an American flag to the faculty and students of our school at 8:45 AM on September 11, 2008. We are honored to have several dignitaries attending this tribute event. Those attending will include School Board member Rhonda Thurman, Soddy-Daisy Mayor Bob Privett, State Rep. Richard Floyd, Commissioner Fred Skillern, Soddy-Daisy Commissioners David Skiles, Geno Shipley, Jim Adams and Patti Skates, along with Soddy-Daisy City Manager Janice Cagle. An honor guard comprised of members of Chapter 203 will present the colors, and Mr. Charlie Hobbs, Honor Guard Captain of Chapter 203 is scheduled to address the school assembly. Rep. Floyd will also present a state flag to the school. In addition to these visitors, we would also like to invite any Falling Water parents or grandparents, who are service men and women, to attend the ceremony dressed in their service attire. We would love to see any veterans, police officers, firemen, nurses, etc. Also on this day as an honor to the flag and those who lost their lives, we would like for every student to please wear red, white and blue.
