Parenting

Proper parenting skills do not necessarily come natural to people.  They are often learned from watching one’s own parents.  Unfortunately, unless a person has had a good role model for a parent, he or she is less likely to develop good parenting skills of his or her own without outside intervention.  There are many parenting issues that can present themselves unexpectedly for which no prior experience has been obtained.  Many problems exist in today’s world that did not exist a generation ago.  Single parents have more than their share of difficulties to contend with.  All of these factors have lead to the establishment of several agencies in the Chattanooga area where parents can turn to for classes in parenting, private counseling, and parent support groups.  According to Parent Teacher Association surveys, Falling Water parents have consistently expressed an interest in attending seminars and workshops regarding a variety of parenting issues.
